A Super-Natural Happening That Just Happened

It was about 3:00 in the afternoon on a rainy day that I found a few minutes to sit down and read while the last canner of tomatoes was processing. My prayer partner, Amanda, had lent me her book, “Living In The Final Chapter” by Perry Stone.

It was the last page of the second chapter that I was reading. Out of the corner of my eye (peripheral vision) I saw a bright beam of light come through the north window right in front of my eyes where I was reading and on to the next page. The brilliant beam of light lit on the word, “happening” directly in the center of the word. The best I can describe this is that it resembled a comet. The taillight stayed for a few seconds. Then that long luminous tail lifted and just the pea-sized dot of radiant light remained.

This startled me. It really rattled my cage. Thoughts went flying through my mind ___ this must be a ray of sunshine coming through the window ___ “no” it is dark out and raining hard ___ maybe it is ___ maybe ___ This is a God thing!

As soon as I realized it was a God thing the glowing dot of light disappeared. I sat there in stunned silence for several minutes trying to comprehend it all. In my quiet conversation with the Lord, I said,  “Oh Jesus you are letting me know that the super-natural that I have prayed for so long is happening now. You really are letting me know that what is happening now is an answer to my heart’s cry.”

The next thing that I thought of was brilliant. “Read the whole sentence that was just now divinely pointed out by a God Comet.” So ___ I read it over and over again for many days trying to grasp what The Lord wanted me to know. Here is the whole paragraph. 

“Most of what we see happening in the physical realm is only a reflection or consequence of what has already transpired in the spiritual realm. Many battles that we may have endured in this life have been won or lost in the spiritual battle that preceded it. As we enter the final stages of this era of history, and as we see more and more prophecy being fulfilled, we can be sure that heavenly warfare is going to be at an all time hit. We must realize that prior to the physical manifestation of a prophetically significant event, a spiritual campaign between the forces of darkness and the Kingdom of God has been fought.  There is an invisible side to prophecy.”

For nearly two years, I had been out of ministry. I felt like a fish must feel when flopping desperately on the sandbar to get back into the stream where life-giving water and oxygen can flow through its gills once again. Once more, new life __ renewed strength to swim up stream with ease, doing what God created it to do.

During that time I had fought the battle of all battles (mind games) flopping like a fish to survive. Someone who betrayed me had torn my guts out of me and left me to bleed to death. The pain was unbearable at times and I wanted so bad to get revenge. Was God ever going to hear my cry and help me?

As the days passed, after that most incredible event, more and more knowledge was revealed to me concerning my future. Through a series of events that only God could make known to me __ the doors swung wide open. A new TV program was in the making. Prison gates swung wide open again for me to sing and minister His Word to the incarcerated. 

Perhaps you are feeling today, like the fish out of water. Wondering, “will I ever get back in to the stream of life that God has called me to?” If perchance you are there and you are fighting for your life to stay alive emotionally __ let me encourage you today. God may not send you a comet, but rest assured, He will send His guiding angels to your rescue as He did and has done for me. 

That day the Lord came to me, via a Holy Spirit driven comet, I hadn’t asked for anything special nor had I been on my knees praying nor had I been reading my Bible for hours. I was preserving my bountiful fall harvest. Just doing what needed to be done that day.

 Remember, King David was out tending his father’s sheep when he was summoned to appear before an old Prophet to be anointed king over Israel?

Sometimes I think we feel guilty that we don’t pray enough__ we don’t take adequate time to read scriptures __ we don’t go to all the church meetings often enough. I do that sometimes. But, what was so awesome to me was this “God occurrence” came in the afternoon when I least expected it. 

It is easy to let the enemy of our soul beat up on us if we aren’t constantly doing __doing __ doing! Remember do what needs to be done. If daily chores around your home or family needs done __ do it. God may have a surprise for you.

The Lord comes to me often in dreams in the nighttime to share His heart with me. Over the years I have come to expect Him to just come in the night when He can catch me still enough to hangout with me. How precious? I’ll be very happy for some more afternoon visits from the Lord.
