Today A New Day, Part  3 

On Your Way To Making A Difference

           Today is a new day. Today you and I can make a difference in a world that seems to have gone awry. The passion of our heart can and will make a life changing experience for someone today. Just think about that for a moment. Anything you do in life has an effect on someone else whether positive or negative, the choice is ours.

           If you are a parent, look at your children. You are the most important teacher they will ever have. If you are a grandparent as I am, think about the wisdom and knowledge that you can impart to them that their parents can’t because you have lived longer and been through life’s trials and tribulations that perhaps their parents haven’t gone through. Perhaps you can show them love in ways they haven’t yet experienced.

            If you are a banker, think of how many people depend on your good judgment. How about a farmer, our food chain depends upon you for everything in the food department. If you are in the medical field, how many depend upon you to get them well again.

           We could go on all day naming the ways every one of us makes a difference in the world. Perchance you are thinking, but Jane, I have screwed up so many times that I can’t count that far, and I have failed at every thing I have ever tried and I am tired of it all. If you have assessed yourself this way, then I can understand where you are coming from. There was a time that I felt the same way.

What Can Change My Life

           Why is there so much unhappiness in my life? I have to speak only from my own life. I have to share my story with you, praying that it will help you to see something positive about your situation.

           First of all I was chasing after what the world said that would bring happiness. Things! Alcohol, drugs, sex, wild times and money may be what you have been chasing after too. These things will lead us into more heartache. There is nothing wrong with money. That is the way this world is set up to run. We have to have money to operate in this world, but we must keep in mind what the love of money will do if not kept in balance.

           When I, Jane, came to the realization that nothing was working right for me, I turned to the Lord Jesus for help and I received that. I asked Him to be the Lord of my life. He not only gave me peace of mind, but eternal life with Him for all eternity. His Word, the Bible, gives me good instruction and I am learning more everyday to hear the still small voice on the inside. You can do the same thing. Help is available when we ask Jesus to help.

Prayer, Fasting And God’s Word

           Prayer, fasting, and reading the Bible makes a difference with people who are making a difference in a troubled world. Nothing else will take its place. There are no shortcuts to success with God. Joshua 1:8 states, This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. 

       I took that scripture to heart along with many others and began to put God and His Word to the test. It works! People who are making a difference will work hard, be listening careful to the still small voice within, and write down their vision so that all will be able to see it, and in due season it will come to pass. The Bible says in, Hab 2:2  And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by. 

     Hab 2:3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day. [Heb. 10:37, 38.] 

Gal 6:9  And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint. 

            There is something wonderful that takes place when we write down our dream or vision. We not only can see it but others can too and know that you mean business. It’s easier to stay focused on that vision if we see it wrote down. If we make notes along side of it from time to time, that will help us to see the progress that is being made. 

 When others who are watching you, and see that your dream is coming into existence, they too will want to set goals and see their dreams and visions come about too. Hearts and lives will change__your life will change too when you see your long-time dream or visions take place.

 Gal. 6:9 was a scripture that kept me on track for fifty years while waiting to see my vision and dream come into being. “And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.” Thank God for this Word to me. It can be yours too.
