A New
Day with Janie T.
Today A New Day, Part #1
Passion
Of The Heart__What Is Yours?
What’s Happening?
Today is a new day. People are making a
difference everywhere. In society, in churches, in schools, in
prisons; everyday someone is making a difference. Some not so good,
others are making very positive changes in today’s world.
Making
A Difference
Who’s making the difference? People like you
and me. My desire is to do something in this life that will leave
lasting results in the hearts and lives of others, especially for
those whom has lost hope in their future and their dreams, perhaps
even life.
How
Can We Make A Difference?
According
to the Bible, God has for each individual, a purpose which He had
planned before we were ever born. In finding that purpose we need to
look into our inner person and ask ourselves a question. What is the
passion of my heart? Our passion will require some intimate time with
the Lord and proper advice from those who are successful in the field
we want to pursue.
Pro
19:20 Hear counsel, receive instruction,
and accept correction, which you may be wise in the time to
come.
Pro
19:21 Many plans are in a man's mind, but it
is the Lord's purpose for him that will stand. [Job
23:13; Ps. 33:10, 11; Isa. 14:26, 27; 46:10; Acts 5:39; Heb. 6:17.]
Pro
20:24
Man's steps are ordered by the Lord. How then can a man
understand his way?
My
passion was horses and music. All my childhood (all that I wasn’t
working) was on the back of a pony. Tiny, (my Shetland pony) was a
miserably cantankerous little quadruped. Little Tiny could bite very
hard and stop on a dime and leave some change. Many were the times I
walked home from where we got to when Miss Tiny's mood would change
and I would end up on the ground, in a fence or an irrigation
ditch. There were times I had
battle scars or would come home soaking wet from these episodes.
Though the ride was painful at times it was all worth it. It
was an endurance test that would later teach me something about never
giving up on what was important to me. The love for horses grew and so
did the inner dream of becoming a singer someday.
The
question may be asked, how does horses and music equate with God’s
purpose and plan for your life. Riding that pony gave me experience
for someday in the future of trying out for a rodeo competition.
That competition led down a path of stepping-stones that led me
to where I am today.
Opportunities
are like Frisbees__you catch them or let them go on by.
Perhaps
today you maybe thinking, “I have let all my Frisbees go on by.”
It’s to late for me to retrieve any of them. I am too old. I am
young and hate my life. I don’t have what it takes to start over on
my dream. So many bad things have happened to me that I don’t trust
anyone or anything anymore. I have lost all hope of having any
happiness in my life and the problems seem unsolvable.”
If
this sounds all too familiar to you, it did to me also a few years
ago. This one thing I know there is hope in Jesus and the Bible,
God’s Word. Although I couldn’t trust people I know that there are
some still out there waiting to love you and help you. Jesus is
trustworthy; you can trust Him with your life. Don’t give up. You
are closer to the desire of your heart than you may think. Sometimes
the pain in your life is the stepping-stone that you will use to help
others reach their destiny as you arrive at the purpose and destiny
for your life. YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO WILL MAKE A POSITIVE
DIFFERENCE IN TODAY’S WORLD.
Be
encouraged this day. If God can restore my dreams He will do the same
for you.
