After
reading the previous story about a Border collie mom, I thought perhaps
you might like to know what else God had planned for her. Yes, I believe
God has a plan for all His creation.
This
scripture quickly comes to mind: Jeremiah
29:11 For I know
the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and
plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your
final outcome. Amp. Bible
If
Miss Lady could talk, I am sure she would say too, that she was glad for
the plan and purpose God had for her also. Her son, the half grown pup
went missing the next morning after they came to our place. We always
thought that he might have taken the eye of some children that were in
the fields nearby working with their parents.
Lady stayed on with us for about a month until my son and his
wife could get settled into their new abode.
Miss
Lady would go out with my husband and me to work the cattle everyday. It
amazed me; as she would move so carefully around the cattle to move them
into the corral or pasture that they were supposed to go in. She would
go a few feet then stop, look at my husband and wait for the next
command. We marvelled at her intelligence.
Soon
her career was going to change. My son came to take Lady home with him
to begin a new life with them. She loved them as much as they loved her.
What is not to love about a Border collie dog? I can’t think of
anything.
Not
long after that my first grand angel was born. Tara Marie. Miss Lady was
a natural born caretaker. She watched every move Tara made. As Tara
grew, Lady became more protective of Tara. Four and a half years later
grand angel number two, Ethan, was added to Lady’s occupation.
She did a magnificent job.
Lady
made sure that the kids didn’t wander off from the yard. No fences!
When a vehicle would start she would get in front of them and
herd them back towards the yard. Border collies are natural born herders
not only for sheep, cattle, but children also. When Ethan was just
starting to walk she would get in front of him and not let him move too
far from where mom was working out in the yard or corral. At times he
would get so angry with her that he would cry or throw a little tantrum.
Miss Lady always knew best!
Then
there was more of the plan revealed that God had for their
beloved black and
white, Lady dog. Many people
heard the news of her capabilities with livestock and children. Good new
travels fast! They were asking are you going to let her have some pups.
They did. And Ethan and Tara loved every minute playing with those
darling little furry balls of joy. We all did.
It
was a sad day when Miss Lady went to doggy heaven. But they had many
happy years with her offspring and many fond memories. This picture is
of Tara, Ethan and two of Lady’s puppies. Tara and Ethan are now 24
and 19 years old.
Remember:
God has a wonderful plan for you. He loves you and wants you to have a
good life. Fun is included in His plan for you also. If you need some
encouragement today receive this insightful message from the Lord:
Jeremiah
29:11-14 For
I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord,
thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you
hope in your final outcome. Amp. Bible
Then
you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear
and heed you.
Then
you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and
find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. [Deut.
4:29-30.]
I
will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from
captivity… Amp. Bible
Be
blessed today,
Jane
