Letters of Love Dear Jane, I have an amazing story to tell you, all about how God cares about the details of our lives. It all started with a dear friend who was worrying about her upcoming surgery. In particular, she was concerned about how she would be able to store up groceries for her several week recovery time. She lives alone and has only a very small apartment size fridge with a tiny freezer compartment. This week I received an unexpected gift of money in the mail, and my first impulse was to return it to the sender. But within minutes of opening the envelope, I knew that this money was really intended for my friend. The thought of a freezer overflowing with food was all I could think about, and it was so much fun to implement this plan. A new freezer was delivered while my friend was at work, without her knowledge. I told her that I needed to pick up a few groceries after work, and invited her to come along. It was so much fun as I encouraged her to tell me what she likes to eat, pretending that I needed some new items to purchase. Little did she know that these items were actually destined for her own freezer already sitting in her apartment. I will always remember the look on her face when she finally saw the surprise sitting in her apartment. She had been praying for God to "Wow" her. She has had several incredible things happen in the past week that make us all say, "Wow, God is awesome!" The freezer might just be called the "Wow" from now on. When I shared this story with the sender of the money, this was the response: "This blessed me beyond measure to hear this story about your friend. People really need to know that God is so willing to answer our prayer if He could get people to be obedient to His nudging. I knew nothing of her need. You did and you were obedient to the Lord's nudging. What a blessing!!" Anonymous |
